The second School of Peace of 2025 began on October 13, in Salatiga Indonesia.


The School of Peace officially began on Monday, October 13, 2025. ICF welcomed 14 participants from eight countries: Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Timor Leste, Vietnam, and Nepal. The participant from Pakistan is still waiting for his visa and hopes to join the group in the coming weeks.
During the opening ceremony, the Vice President of YMCA Indonesia, Dr.Suwarto Adi, and Ms. Margaretha Andoea, NGS of YMCA Indonesia, welcomed the participants, staff, and guests. Mr. Nam Boo Won, the General Secretary of APAY, delivered his opening remarks via Zoom, where he honored the significant contribution of the late Dr. Muriel Orevillo-Montenegro, ICF Coordinator.
The opening day also included sessions on Getting to Know Each Other, Logistics, House Rules, and Expectations, along with information on YMCA, APAY, and ICF.
In the coming weeks, participants will live and learn together to become resilient and Peacebuilders. After returning to their home countries and communities, they are expected to develop and carry out follow-up activities based on the skills and knowledge they gained during this nearly two-month program.
The SoP will run from October 12 to December 5, 2025, in Salatiga and Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
