Hello! My name is Ramis John, and I am a Christian by faith. Since 2023, I have been serving as the Youth Coordinator at Lahore YMCA. In 2024, I also began working as an IT and Media Production Assistant at the Presbyterian Education Board in Pakistan (PEB).

I am proud to be an alumnus of the Interfaith Cooperation Forum (ICF). I successfully completed the School of Peace 2023, held in Bali, Indonesia, a two-month life-changing experience jointly organized by ICF, YMCA Indonesia, and the Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs (APAY).

The School of Peace was an incredible opportunity for me to grow as a leader and become a change-maker. We learned from excellent trainers—experts who taught us how to become peacebuilders and a strong pillar of support in our communities. I also gained valuable insights and lifelong friendships with fellow participants from various countries. We continue to stay in touch and support each other through social media.

In August 2024, I had the honor of attending the Training of Trainers (TOT) on Conflict-Sensitive Approaches to Development and Peacebuilding, held in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The event was organized by ICF, APAY, the Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC), and the YMCA of Cambodia. I am very grateful to ICF for providing me with this opportunity to further develop my knowledge and skills.

As an active member of the ICF Alumni Network in Pakistan, and representing Lahore YMCA, I organized two impactful workshops funded by ICF small grants:

·      Promoting Peace Education in Pakistan (2023)

·      Ecological Crisis and Climate Change Issues in Pakistan (2024)

In 2025, Lahore YMCA also hosted an online workshop series in collaboration with ICF, The School of Nonviolence Inc., and ICF fellow alumni from different countries. These sessions covered essential topics, including nonviolent communication, climate change, and mental health.

As part of the Lahore YMCA, we are proud to work closely with ICF. Our partnership is based on a shared goal—to support and empower young people through education about peace, justice, the environment, and mental health. We are very thankful to ICF for their ongoing support and look forward to continuing this important work together.
